Attractions on the seafront, near the Gleneagles Hotel, Southend

Heading towards Southend seafront just a few minutes walk from the Gleneagles Hotel

Close by Adventure Island is The Three Shells café. Built in a shell design, offering ice cream sundaes, cola floats, take away or sit in, newly refurnished with a seating area over looking the sea.

Hot and cold food, the cafe has adjoining beach with a paddling pool and play ground for the kids. You just can’t walk past without sampling a hot doughnut freshly made and covered in sugar !

As you continue along Southend seafront - The Blue Banana Steak House, with its new lunch time menu and opening late in the summer. It is run by a husband and wife who will greet you in a warm and friendly manner. The Blue Banana boasts one of the best coffee houses along the Southend seafront. Food menu comprises fresh produce to create a mouth watering display of tasty wholesome food.

Stop at the Rossi Cafe and Ice cream parlour. Rossi ice cream is one of Southend’s best kept secrets. Rossi ice cream is famous for its recipe. It has been handed down through the decades after making its mark in the halcyon years of the fifties. It is still as popular today with its different Rossi ice cream stands dotted along the seafront.

Rossi Cafe on Eastern Esplanade, Westcliff also offers you a breakfast - not for the faint hearted, it will set you up for the rest of the day. Also offered are tea and coffees, soft drinks and pastries. There is a lunch time menu and snacks and of course a wide selection of Rossi ice cream, ranging from plain to mint choc chip and rum raisin to name a few, pleasing all tastes.

The Arches, is a parade of quaint small cafes. Fresh, locally sourced produce and fresh fish, each cafe boasted the best fish and chips in town! Some of the cafes allow to bring you own wine with your meal, an ideal places to come and unwind and relax after a day on the beach or strolling the seafront of Southend and Westcliff.
